In light of the "European Green Deal" and the Circular Economy Package, there is an urgent need to drastically reduce resource consumption (by 25%) and CO2 emissions (by 55%) by 2030, while significantly improving resource efficiency. Metals have a particularly high ecological footprint due to their reliance on raw materials, but they are also ideal candidates for recycling. To this end, a new FFG flagship project will use artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of metallic waste.
