In a time of rapid change, we see trends toward energy/resource efficiency, miniaturisation, integration of electronics/sensor systems/actuating elements, digitalisation and the use of LED. Based on these trends, tremendous developments of high complexity in the lighting industry have to be implemented now as soon as possible.
The objective of the "Opt_Solutions" project is to organise a cross-industry network of cooperating companies/SMB. By communicating customised know-how and its joint implementation in the project, the partners receive the skills to process the complex requirements for the design and production of optical application innovations in real case studies. These include, among other, targeted energy-efficient light guidance/distribution by microstructure films, space-saving integration of electronics as printed electronics, and the development of highly heat-conductive special plastic compounds, as a lot of heat is created on certain points when using LEDs and it is essential to discharge this heat in a cost-efficient manner. The challenge is to integrate the broad, diverse know-how in the form of a product.
By virtue of the new know-how generated in the project and the close cooperation between the partners in the intense exchange within the network creates a lead in innovative for all partners, especially the participating SMBs, which puts them in the position from now on to systematically go new ways to find solutions in the area of innovative optical applications and successful lead this rapidly developing market with new products.
